Thank you for participating in this survey of the practice of nursing home, assisted living, and home and community-based service administrators conducted on behalf of the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) by Pearson VUE.
This survey is the first and most important step in the process of updating the content of the National Core of Knowledge Exam for Long-Term Care Administrators (CORE), the line of service exams - the National Nursing Home Administrators (NHA), Residential Care/Assisted Living (RCAL), and Home and Community-based Services (HCBS). The purpose of this survey is to identify the tasks performed, and the knowledge, skills, and abilities critical for long-term post-acute care leaders in long-term or post-acute care. Results of this survey will help refine the content and compositions of the NAB Domains of Practice, which will in turn shape future examinations, continuing education events, academic accreditation programs, and the Administrator in Training (AIT)/Administrator Residency (AR) experience.
The survey consists of a series of demographic questions that relate to your job as a long term post-acute care leader and a series of questions asking your opinion on the importance of the knowledge needed and tasks performed by an entry-level administrator across the continuum of long-term care.
Participation in the survey is voluntary. Your answers are anonymous, and responses will be reported only in the aggregate.
The survey should take approximately 40 minutes to complete. After rating the knowledge areas and tasks you will have an opportunity to add topics that may have been missed, so feel welcome to take notes. Please try to complete the survey in one sitting. If you need more than one session to complete the survey, close the browser between survey sessions. Do NOT click "Done" before completing the full survey. If you do click "Done", you will not be allowed to return to the survey. Please complete the survey by February 6, 2026.
Those who complete the survey can opt in to receive 0.75 hours of continuing education (CE) units and entry into a raffle for one of 5 prizes valued at approximately $120 each. Should you opt in, your information will not be tied in any way to your survey responses.
NAB sincerely thanks you for your contribution to the profession and for your time and assistance in ensuring that the NAB exams and future educational courses are reflective of the work performed by long-term post-acute care leaders.
