This survey is part of the Alberta AgriSystems Living Lab (AALL), led by Alberta Beef Producers and supported by organizations in the beef and cropping sector. The AALL is monitoring adoption of beneficial management practices (BMPs) that producers use. Understanding how adoption of these practices has changed since AALL started in 2022 is key to understanding the impact of the program.
Results from this survey will help direct government policy and inform the public about industry efforts.
This survey may take up to 20-30 minutes to complete, depending on the type and size of the operation. All responses can be top of mind, that is, there is no need to look up records to respond. All answers should reflect practices from the 2025 calendar year, or the last five years (2021-25).
Farmers and ranchers in all of Alberta and the Peace region of British Columbia are invited to participate before the deadline of March 31, 2026.
Individual responses will remain anonymous, confidential with responses aggregated for reporting purposes.
We thank you for your time in completing the survey. More information about AALL can be found here: https://www.agrisystemsll.ca.
If an Alberta 4-H club has referred you be sure to fill out the survey in full including the final question asking for the name of the 4-H club - This is how we can identify each club for their fundraising efforts. The two clubs with the most responses (minimum 15) will receive a cash prize of $800 for first and $500 for second, and there will also be a random bonus draw for another $500.
As a thank you for your support and in recognition of the time required to fill out the survey the team at AALL would like to offer participants an chance at several 'thank you' items such as a Gallagher Solar Fence charger ($1200 value), a Stamps Seeds Voucher ($1200 value), CanFax yearly membership ($175 value) or 1 of 4 books on Regenerative Agriculture. These thank you items will be randomly drawn from a list of names and you must complete the survey to be eligible for them.
