Free electronic publication (outright) to members

In theory, new RSCDS publications could be available for free to RSCDS members in electronic format immediately after publication, if there was a way to offset the loss of revenue that would ensue because fewer paper copies would be sold. One way of doing this would be by increasing annual membership dues. (As a data point for your consideration, we sell around 2000 copies of a new dance book at approximately £10/copy, which could be covered by an increase of approximately £2/membership.)

An alternative to the scheme might be to offer RSCDS members an optional, “premium” membership that would include unlimited free online access to RSCDS dance publications for an annual surcharge, so with 12,000 members, a £2 increase to membership dues would approximately cover that and give every member access to the new book in electronic form at no extra charge.)

Question Title
