The Community Protection (CP) Waiver provides intensive, voluntary services and 24- hour supervision for those identified as having significant support needs related to criminal or dangerous behavior patterns. CP waiver services enable participants to live successfully in the community and remain out of justice-system settings. The services on the waiver support participants to make positive choices and develop skills to reduce dangerous behaviors.

DDA would like to change the name of this waiver to be more person centered. Participants on the Community Protection waiver choose to receive these services so they can learn skills to be successful in their communities- the waiver is about supporting the person, not simply protecting the community. DDA invites you to vote for the name you feel best describes the program.

The winning name will be selected on January 9th and will be effective September 1, 2022 pending approval by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
