The 29th Annual Scientific Meeting and Education Day of the Society for Neuro-Oncology (SNO) will be held November 21-22, 2024, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.

A minimum of seven scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the SNO International Outreach Committee to applicants from low income or developing nations in each of the following geographical regions (at least one per region): South America/Central America & the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa (East, West, Central and Southern Africa), China & associated countries, Far East and Australasia, Indian Sub-Continent, North Africa & the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Scholarship total value ($3,900 USD):
- Hotel: $1,400
- Registration: $750
- Travel support stipend: $1,750*
- Option to attend SNO Neuro-Oncology Review Course on Wednesday, November 20th.

In order to be considered for one of the travel scholarships, the applicant must meet the following guidelines:
  1. Living and working outside the United States or Canada
  2. Be a medical professional with a focus in neuro-oncology
  3. Has not previously received the scholarship for a past SNO meeting
  4. Could otherwise not attend without the benefit of a travel scholarship
  5. Is not the presenting author of an abstract being submitted to the SNO meeting
  6. Have no visa issues entering the U.S.(SNO cannot provide visa assistance other than providing a letter of invitation)

Applicants will be notified via email in due course if they have been selected for a scholarship.

SNO will provide complimentary hotel accommodations at one of the conference hotels (approximate value $1,400 USD) and registration to the Annual Scientific Meeting and Education Day and the Neuro-Oncology Review Course, along with three boxed lunches (approximate value $750 USD). The award winner will be responsible for air transportation and transfer costs* to and from the meeting, as well as meals. This award does not include a ticket to the SNO Gala.

Recipients will be invited to present a poster during the International Outreach Luncheon.

*The $1,750 USD travel support stipend will be presented by check to the winning applicants on-site at the meeting in Houston, TX. This award is intended to offset travel expenses and may or may not cover all costs.
