Bathroom and kitchen modifications (2-day workshop)

This two-day interactive workshop will equip you with the knowledge and skills to assess and provide consultation for bathroom modifications and basic kitchen modifications for accessible, adaptable and universal design features to suit the needs of people of a wide range of ages and who have diverse needs. This workshop will provide you with an overview of broad principles for modifications of bathroom and kitchens, barriers and environmental solutions, and resources to assist practice. Hands-on activities include measuring bathrooms/kitchens, drawing floor plans on the computer, and discussing case studies.

To enhance your ability to apply the information into your practice, please bring a metal tape measure (at least 5 metres long), a portable computer or tablet (with Word and PowerPoint), a floor plan sketch of a bathroom with measurements and some pictures of a kitchen. You are also encouraged to reflect on and bring with you some case studies for discussion.
