Event Waiver and Release of Liability
By registering for this event, you acknowledge that walking, running, or volunteering for a one-mile track event is physically demanding and carries a risk of injury. You agree that you will not participate unless you are medically fit and properly trained.
By submitting this registration form, the Parent/Guardian certifies that they and all listed participants are healthy and able to participate. You also agree to follow any decisions made by a NINOS staff member regarding your participation, including the authority of any official to deny or suspend participation for any reason.
By submitting your registration, you also confirm that you have read the race rules and agree to the following:
I accept all risks related to walking, running, or volunteering at this event, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, and weather conditions such as heat and humidity.
I acknowledge and accept these risks.
Waiver and Acknowledgment
In consideration of my registration being accepted, I, on my own behalf and on behalf of anyone authorized to act for me, waive and release Neighbors In Need of Services (NINOS) Inc., the City of Brownsville, all event sponsors, and their representatives and successors from any claims or liability arising from my participation, even if caused by negligence or carelessness.
I further give permission for all parties mentioned above to use my name, likeness, photographs, videos, recordings, or any event records for legitimate purposes.
I understand that photographers may take my photo during the event, which may be used for promotional material.
Participants exhibiting poor race etiquette, such as blocking others or acting unsportsmanlike toward participants, staff, or volunteers, may be disqualified and banned from future events at the program’s discretion.
