DESIGNING A STRONG LEARNING COMMUNITY - TOGETHER

Thank you for joining the conversation about junior high programming in Beaverlodge and Hythe. We’re looking for your input as we design a sustainable learning environment for all students, together.

A student’s school experience is impacted by many things including how school grades are arranged, how many students are found within each school, what programs are available and how long they travel to and from school each day.

In this survey, we have identified three possible approaches for you to review. Each approach to school programming has a variety of implications, opportunities and challenges and we want you to consider each approach and share with us your understanding of the pros, cons and trade-offs for each possible path forward.

Your input will be used by Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) in combination with logistical, financial and planning considerations to make decisions about junior high school programming in these two communities. This is a complex discussion concerning important issues such as school programming, the needs of students, change and maintaining vibrant schools and a positive learning experience. It requires your voice and participation to ensure sustainable results.

Throughout this survey we have used acronyms to refer to the schools under consideration. These include:
  • Beaverlodge Elementary School (BES)
  • Beaverlodge Regional High School (BRHS)
  • Hythe Regional School (HRS)
This survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete. We invite you to practice care, kindness & respect in this online conversation. Thank you in advance for your feedback on this important topic.
