Fall Waterfall & Meditation Retreat |
Would you be interested in attending a retreat on Columbus Day Weekend?
Survey Goal: I'm trying to gauge interest in people's willingness to attend so I can book the retreat center. But, even if you're not interested or can't attend, hearing your feedback on the retreat would be helpful. It can help me tailor future retreats for your interests.
The Plan: I am planning a Weekend Retreat in Royalston, MA combining Buddhist meditation and visits to 3 beautiful waterfalls concentrated in the area.
- Dates: Saturday, Oct 8 - Sunday Oct 9, 2016
- Cost: Depending on the number of participants the price would be between $150 - $200 per person. A maximum of 9 people can attend. Cost includes all meals (gluten free and vegetarian options available), access to the retreat center properties,room, and board.
Itinerary:
Day 1: The retreat would begin on Saturday morning at 8:30 at Greenfyre Retreat Center. We'd pick up bag lunches (gluten free and vegetarian options available) and head to Royalston Falls (1.5 miles of trails. Moderate hiking, strenuous in places - point of reference - I did it). We'd eat lunch and enjoy the falls.
Once we've hiked out, we'd visit a local treat site (TBD) then take on Doane's Falls, the areas most impressive and accessible falls. There would be a Dharma talk and time for individual meditation (your choice - viewing the falls, drawing, journaling, reading, etc) .
From here we'd return to Greenfyre for dinner, a sunset meditation, and relaxation.
Day 2: Sunday would start with an optional sunrise meditation, breakfast, and an hour meditation session (guided meditation, qigong, chanting, silent meditation).
Next will be our final waterfall visit, a mile hike to Spirit Falls at Jacob Hill for a meditation and waterfall exploring. Once we've hiked out, we'd return to Greenfyre, pack up and head home refreshed.
