PAIL Network – Perinatal Bereavement Support for Fathers/Male Partners in Ontario

PAIL Network provides free support services to bereaved families across Ontario who have experienced the loss of a baby during pregnancy or an infant up to one year.

We know from experience and past feedback from families that Fathers/Male Partners can experience loss in ways that are different from others in their family and that existing services do not always provide the type of support they need or provide it in a way that is comfortable to them. To improve PAIL Network services for Fathers/Male Partners, we are conducting a survey of Fathers/Male Partners in families in Ontario who have experienced the loss of a baby at any stage during pregnancy or an infant under one year.

Are you a Male Partner:

a.    of someone who experienced a physical pregnancy loss or stillbirth, or death of an infant within one year of life?

b.    who experienced the loss in Ontario?

If you answered “yes” to both questions, we would like to hear from you.

Participation in this survey is voluntary and the survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. It asks you about your own loss experience(s), the types of support you received after the loss, what was most/least helpful to you, and what other services and supports are needed for Fathers/Male Partners.

The feedback you provide will be completely confidential and no personal identifying information will be collected.  The person summarizing the survey will not be able to contact you about your responses or link you to any responses you give.

Finally, you will be asked during the survey to reflect on and speak about your own experiences related to pregnancy and infant loss which may cause distress. If you would like support after the survey please contact PAIL Network at or 1-888-303-7245 (PAIL).
