In order to foster more positive interactions between cyclists and motorists, Boulder County has recently piloted two new types of signage on several county roads near Hygiene and Lyons.  These new signs explain existing state laws, but do not create or amend any state laws.

* 7. Were you previously aware that Colorado state law requires motorists to give cyclists at least 3 feet of clearance when passing, but also permits motorists to cross a double/ solid yellow line (otherwise a no passing zone) when it is safe to do so and does not interfere with oncoming traffic?
