The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking public feedback on the potential designs for the I-44/U.S. 50 interchange and U.S. 50/Route AT intersection. Your input will help guide MoDOT and the Design-Build teams to develop a design that best meets the project goals while also reflecting community values.

11.In addition to the potential interchange and intersection designs, several other improvements could be included with this project. These include:
  • Moving the eastbound I-44 exit ramp from Route O to U.S. 50 to reduce traffic conflicts.
  • Adding a third lane and/or dedicated acceleration lanes for trucks to improve traffic flow along I-44.
  • Replacing free-flow ramps with lower-speed ramps that require drivers slow down before merging.
  • Improving the curve and hills to enhance visibility and driving conditions.
  • Rehabilitating or replacing the Bourbeuse River and Route O bridges to reduce maintenance needs and improve long-term reliability.
