Directions

Students must meet the following requirements in order to be enrolled as a Ministerial Student or appointed as a Licensed Minister in the West Michigan District:

  • Completion of District Enrollment Form (this form)
  • Payment of District Enrollment Fee (information available at: http://www.westmichigandistrict.com/pursuing-the-call/)
  • Enrollment with the Department of Education and Clergy Development (information available at: ECD Enrollment)
  • Recommendation from your local church for enrollment as a Ministerial Student or appointment as a Licensed Minister. Your pastor will be contacted for a recommendation after this form has been submitted.
Once the District Enrollment Form and enrollment fee have been received, someone from the Pursuing the Call team (DBMD) will follow up with you via email.

Indicate your acknowledgement that in order to receive credit for any post high school education received you must send copies of your post high school education transcripts to the Department of Education and Clergy Development. Criminal Background and Credit Checks.

All persons listed as Ministerial Students, or appointed as a Licensed, Ordained, or Commissioned Minister in the West Michigan District must have a current Criminal Background check and Credit History on file with the District Office. In providing the information below you are authorizing the District Office to complete the Criminal Background Check and Credit History on your behalf. If you desire to submit this information directly to the District Office, you may do so by contacting the office at 616-827-9450.

Permission to Conduct Background Checks:

Your personal information as well as the information provided in the Criminal Background and Credit History reports will be kept confidential. You may receive copies of the information by requesting this information through the District Office. You will be notified of any issues arising from the information received and will have the opportunity to discuss how this may affect the decision to be enrolled as a ministerial student or appointed as a Licensed Minister.
