Currently many local, regional, state and national level organizations serve, address and advance the needs and interests of United States Service Women (active duty, Reserve and Guard, veterans and retirees). An Advisory Council of Service Women’s organizations is exploring potential benefits that forming a coalition of Service Women’s organizations might contribute to strengthening the position of service women. A coalition is a formal alliance of organizations that come together to work for a common goal. They develop an internal decision-making and leadership structure that allows member organizations to speak with a united voice and engage in shared planning and implementation activities.
Our initial questions are: Can U.S. service women’s organizations benefit by participating in a coalition of organizations? If so, what benefits, shared expertise, and topic areas would organizations like addressed through a coalition? Responses to this survey will help answer these questions.
Results of this survey will be reported back to you and will be discussed at an inaugural convening on September 7th in Atlanta, Georgia
