Midway University Athletic Hall of Fame
The purpose of the Midway University Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize and honor former athletes, coaches, and others who have demonstrated exceptional athletic achievement and continue to reflect positively on the institution.
The Hall of Fame will:
- Celebrate the history and tradition of our athletic programs
- Recognize outstanding achievements
- Strengthen alumni engagement and institutional pride
Inductees will be honored through:
- Annual induction ceremony during Homecoming weekend
- Permanent on-campus display
- Hall of Fame page on the Athletic website
- Recognition in communications
Eligibility Criteria
- Nominees must:
- Be alumni who graduated at least 10 years ago; An athlete must have participated and lettered in a minimum of one sport for two years
- Coaches with at least five-plus years of service at Midway and have been gone from Midway at least five years
- Teams are eligible 10 years after competition if they brought national recognition
- Individuals who have made significant contributions to Midway athletics in ways other than playing and coaching
- Evaluation Factors (where applicable)
- Athletic achievements (records, awards, honors, championships), and/or
- Contribution to team success, and/or
- Leadership, character, and sportsmanship, and/or
- Post-college accomplishments (optional but recommended), and/or
- Positive representation of the college
Nomination Process
- Nominations accepted annually (September-December) for consideration for next fiscal year recognition
- Submitted by alumni, faculty, staff, or community members (an individual must be nominated by someone other than himself or herself)
- Reviewed by Selection Committee in the spring
- Nominations submitted via a standardized form
- Required materials:
- Biography of nominee
- Summary of achievements
- Supporting documentation (statistics, awards, news articles, testimonials)
