The Northern Middlesex Council of Governments, in cooperation with the Middlesex 3 Coalition, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, the Central Transportation Planning Staff, and the communities of Bedford, Billerica, Burlington, Chelmsford, Lexington, Lowell, Tewksbury and Tyngsborough, is undertaking a review of current options for improving future transportation along the Route 3 corridor.  The study is being funded through the Commonwealth Community Compact program under a partnership established with the participating municipalities.

During recent years, members of the business community have expressed concern regarding the limited transit service and operating hours, and many members feel that the lack of transportation options for employees has hampered the recruitment and retention of manufacturing, retail and service workers who may have limited access to personal vehicles and rely instead on public transportation.

To assist us in better understanding the current transportation needs and challenges for employers and employees, we are requesting that you complete a brief employer survey.  The information gleaned from the survey is key to identifying options and alternatives for addressing transportation needs along the corridor.

Thank you in advance for your participation and cooperation. Should you need assistance or require additional information, please feel free to contact Beverly Woods, NMCOG Executive Director, at (978) 454-8021, ext. 120 or bwoods@nmcog.org.
