Recently, Yoga Alliance has been contacted by members of the Michigan yoga community who are concerned about regulations of yoga teacher training programs (YTTs) by the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). These regulations impose thousands of dollars in fines and burdensome regulatory hurdles. Becoming compliant with these regulations often demands hours upon hours of time and effort.
Yoga Alliance opposes these regulations, and has assembled a team in Michigan to begin efforts to protect the state's YTTs. We will meet with legislators and key decision makers in the government to ensure our voice is heard and that YTTs are exempt from LARA regulations.
