The project will redesign Michigan Avenue from Ganson Street to E. North Street, focusing on multimodal infrastructure improvements for all users. Enhancements include pavement, sidewalk, and curb rehabilitation, upgraded traffic signals, new LED street lighting, updated signage and pavement markings, landscaping, and public art elements to improve safety, accessibility, and corridor character. The project is currently in the preliminary design stage, with final design to take place next year, and the first phase of construction beginning in 2028.
