2018 Casa in Action Candidate Questionnaire

CASA in Action, the region’s largest immigrant rights electoral organization, is excited to transmit to you the below questionnaire. The information that you provide will allow our members to make a determination of whether to support your candidacy.

CASA in Action is a proud member of the resistance to Donald Trump and we are excited that this resistance has produced such a large group of progressive brothers and sisters seeking elected office. Because of the sheer number of candidates, our board may not conduct individual interviews in each race. Accordingly, the questionnaires are a critical piece of information to allow us to proceed with considering your candidacy. We ask that you provide a completed questionnaire no later than November 26th to allow us to consider endorsements in your race by December.

Some of our questions speak to the viability of your campaign and some questions regard your position on various issues. Information you provide regarding campaign viability (number 7 through 10) will be held confidential.

In regards to the issue questions, our Board makes an assumption that elected officials can play a critical role in supporting an issue through public advocacy and more regardless of whether they sit in a body that votes on that issue. In light of that, please do not respond to a question by saying that this is not an issue under the jurisdiction of the legislative body at which you are seeking a position.
