Welcome to the The Maple Review Survey
The Maple Review has been set up as a Government-backed, independent review to understanding the barriers to entrepreneurship from economic deprivation. While there may be different experiences and definitions of economic deprivation, it is clear that coming from poverty, experience of welfare, homelessness, instability and other deprivation can have a profound impact on the opportunities to start and grow a business.
We invite you to share your experiences and thoughts with us. We want to understand how economic hardship has impacted your entrepreneurial path, hurdles you faced, how you overcame them, and what you would like see changed for the future.
This survey is part of our programme of work to identify areas for change and significantly improve opportunity for all in entrepreneurship. Your insights will contribute to a comprehensive report from The Maple Review, set for release in May 2026. The Review's aim is to help bring down barriers to entrepreneurship and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to start and grow a business no matter their circumstances or background.
The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete. At the end, you’ll have an opportunity to share any preferred language around this topic, and you’ll be entered into a draw to win one of two £250 prizes.
