Communication Committee: Oversees the public communication of the association including: any public relations, MaHIMA Connect, web site, MaHIMA CoP. MaHIMA Connect MaHIMA’s quarterly electronic news journal with features, best practices and “in the news” about the HIM profession. Social media, awards, and mentorship are also responsibilities of this commitee.
Education Committee: Under the direction of the Director of Education, coordinates all MaHIMA educational sessions including topics, speakers, agendas for virtual and in-person webinars, educational sessions and workshops. This also includes the annual conference planning.
Legislative Affairs Committee: Monitors legislation in the state legislature and works with legislatures as necessary. Organizes State Hill day. Organizes Release of Information workshops. Maintains Medicolegal Guide Chair
Nominating Committee: This committee solicits nominees for the annual MaHIMA ballot and seeks candidates for AHIMA elections.
Annual Conference Planning Committees:
Program Committee: Responsible for the overall theme of the meeting, creating the speaker agenda and reviewing the proposed topics for the general sessions, keynotes and workshops.
Arrangements and Hospitality Committee: Responsible for the overall set up of the meeting site including the planning of the menus, social events, silent auction and raffles, etc.
