About the Mental Health Line Focus Group
Mental Health Carers NSW is partnering with the NSW Ministry of Health and NSW Department of Customer Service to host two discussion groups which explore mental health carers' experiences of using the Mental Health Line. We would like to understand your experience of using the Mental Health Line, how your experience could be better and if any technology could be added to enhance your experience. This consultation process that will help improve the Mental Health Line.
The small group discussions will take up to 90 minutes of your time. The discussion seeks to understand how easy it is to get what you need from the Mental Health Line, whether the current technology meets your needs and whether the information and communications from the Mental Health Line could be better. Everyone will be encouraged to keep what is shared in the group to themselves and nothing you say will affect your access to services.
Consultation group discussion dates
Two 90 minute online group discussions dates are offered:
Wednesday 13th July - 11.00 am – 12.30pm
Or
Thursday 14th of July 2:00pm-3:30pm
You will need to be set up at home with internet and able to connect into the zoom platform with a working microphone. The group discussions will involve 4-5 participants each and focus on the carer perspective.
Payment for participation
Participation in the focus group will be recognised by a payment of $60 from NSW Health and NSW Department of Customer Service.
Results of the consultation
Based on your feedback and on the feedback of other carers, consumers and proffessionals, the NSW Ministry of Health will consider changes to the information, communications and technology used by the Mental Health Line.

Mental Health Carers NSW will identify 10 carer representatives to attend one of the focus group dates. If you are selected for the focus groups, you will be sent further meeting details.
