Harrisville School Zone - Town Survey

With the help of a grant from the Monadnock Alliance for Sustainable Transportation, the Harrisville Transportation Committee was able to install two speed radars at either end of the Wells Memorial School Zone in January of 2023. The speed radars were part of the long-term goals of the school's Safe Routes to School program.
1.Have you noticed the speed radars located close to Wells Memorial School over the past year?
2.Do you slow down to 20 mph when the beacons are flashing at the beginning and end of school days?
3.Do you observe other drivers slow down when beacons are flashing at the beginning and end of school days?
4.The speed radars indicate a driver's speed at other times of the day. Do you slow down when you notice that you are exceeding the posted 30 mph speed limit?
5.Do you observe that other drivers slow down when the speed radar indicates that they are exceeding the posted 30 mph speed limit?
6.Do you feel that the speed radars have enhanced safety of people (children, teachers, parents, and others) walking and/or playing at the school?
7.Do you feel that the speed radars have enhanced safety for vehicles (school buses and parent cars/trucks) in the area during student drop off and pick up?
8.Do you feel that the speed radars have enhanced safety for bicyclists in the area (on Chesham Road and/or Brown Road)?
