Help us assess the current state of sustainability from an education and operation perspective for our organization.


BLSD is in the process of creating a 5 year sustainability plan for the district and needs your feedback. Please take a few minutes to provide the sustainability committee with your thoughts and share some ideas to guide the process.
The new focus area for education which will guide the goals and actions for the next 5 years is:

Education
We strive to have all students literate in sustainability upon graduation, teach sustainability actions in all schools and ensure that students and staff are active in greening the operations at schools. We provide communication and implementation of sustainable practices among all schools and departments within the District.

6.Sustainability Advisors help work with student green teams and guide efforts at schools. Do you believe that this position should be part of every school in the district?
7.The sustainability advisor position is currently a stipend position, how can this position become more valuable for teachers involved in the program?
8.Changes in behavior alone—such as turning off lights in unoccupied rooms and turning off computers and other electronics at night and on weekends—can save an individual school thousands of dollars every year. Do you have any suggestions in how to assist the district in motivating staff to be part of this behavior change?
