1. Introducing you to this survey

Welcome!

Thank you for agreeing to take this anonymous survey. As a specialist consultancy working with over 16 universities nationally, Mind Your Way supports academics across their entire career span through a range of coaching, training, and text editing services.

Over the last few years, we’ve been flooded with requests by women academics to help them navigate the often-daunting promotion application process on and off the page. Building on our coaching and editing experience, we are now designing an in-person and online course that addresses this challenge.

In designing this survey and course for women, we are guided by the Women in STEM Decadal Plan Discussion Paper, where the term "women" encompasses cisgender, transgender, non-binary, and intersex persons who identify as women.

By seeking your views on what helped or hindered your own success, we hope to develop a course that reflects women's real needs at a crucial and recurring time in their careers.

Ultimately, we hope that our course will make a humble contribution to addressing the ongoing gender inequities at leadership levels in STEAMM disciplines in Australian universities.

With many thanks,

Dr Krys Mossop and Dr Lisa Curtis-Wendlandt from the Mind Your Way team
