EVENT OVERVIEW:

Host Profile:
The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) was founded in 1905 as a voluntary, self-supported non-profit organization to administer the junior and senior high school athletic and activities programs in the state of Washington. The WIAA currently serves approximately 400 member high schools and 400 member middle schools and operates over 120+ High School State Championship events each school year.

Track & Field Contact: Justin Kesterson, WIAA Assistant Executive Director

Event Profile: The WIAA State Track and Field Championships are the culmination of the high school track and field season. Member schools are divided into six classifications (4A, 3A, 2A, 1A, 2B, 1B). Most recently, two sites have been used to host the large school (4A, 3A, 2A) meet and small school (1A, 2B, 1B) meet. The WIAA is exploring possible revisions to these meets, potentially requiring a third site which could reduce the meet to a two-day event. Please include information for a two-day and the standard three-day event. These championships bring together student-athletes, coaches, fans, parents, officials, and other spectators from all over Washington State.

Event Extent and Corresponding Dates:
The WIAA is looking to secure a facility for the next four years of the allocation cycle, then will consider a longer contract.
