Charging for Advice |
1. Charging for Advice?
With the advice sector facing increasing uncertainty regarding funding and sustainability, some advice organisations are considering or have already introduced charges for some types of advice services and for some clients.
AdviceUK has issued a discussion paper in response to these developments: [LINK]
The paper explores some of the key ethical, practical and legal issues and proposes an AdviceUK position as a membership body. It is designed to inform a debate amongst AdviceUK members to help both individual members and AdviceUK make a considered decision. This debate will take place throughout 2011, via AdviceUK members’ network events, this on-line survey and the circulation of further discussion papers and comments as appropriate. AdviceUK may issue further guidance on charging, informed by the debate.
This survey provides you with an opportunity to let us know how you are approaching the issue and what you think about our discussion paper and proposed position. It is open from March 2011 until further notice.
