Help Us Name Nampa's New Dog Park

The City of Nampa is excited to open our second dog park, which is projected to open summer/fall 2023! The new dog park is located on Smith Avenue between Midway Road and Middleton Road. The funding for the dog park comes from park impact fees.

WE NEED YOUR HELP to name the new park! Over 100 park names, along with a brief explanation, were submitted through our 2022 community survey, and Nampa's Volunteer Dog Park Committee has narrowed the list to the top five names. Please take the survey and vote for your favorite name. The survey is open until April 30.

Happy Tails Dog Park - Dogs are happy at parks, they wag their tails when they're happy, seems to be appropriate.

Sycamore Hill Dog Park - Naming the park after a tree would be nice.

Happy Hound Dog Park - I personally own a hound and so do a lot of people in Idaho. I think hounds are a great representation of Idaho and our country roots, plus it is a play on words that sound well together!

Huckleberry Dog Park - Huckleberry is the state's fruit. This would have more significance than naming it after a person or thing.

Winston Dog Park - Named after Mayor Winston Goering. Winston was the Mayor of Nampa from 1982 - 1998. Winston was a veterinarian and had a business in downtown Nampa, calling it Boulevard Veterinary Clinic. Winston had a veterinary license for 50 years and treated many animals, including dogs. I don't believe there is anything named after Winston in Nampa. Seems like a fit.
