Each year they travel to a different destination throughout the Midwest to host their convention, and this year it is here in Kalamazoo at the Delta Marriott.

Volunteer Job Descriptions:
Marking Routes: This is a job being coordinated by the Kalamazoo Bike Club. This is where you drive the routes with the turn-by-turn instructions and you mark the routes for the turns before and after at every turn. There are 4 different routes with additional add on loops. There are a lot of markings to do. We estimate that if groups signed up to mark together the routes can all be marked efficiently. The volunteer jobs are done between August 28 and September 3. This is probably one of the more important volunteer positions because our out-of-town guest riders need to know exactly where they need to go!
Assisting with SAG Stops: Welcome the riders, maintain the featured food item (sandwich lunch boxes on Saturday and Sunday, ice cream on Friday, and donuts on Monday). A total of 5-10 volunteers are needed each day to help welcome, fee, hydrate, and support through a welcoming cheer. Details about the duties are provided in the confirmation email (details depend on the day). Travel to the SAG stop is required. Friday, September 4 ride date has not been confirmed, but September 5-7 times will be between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Route Recovery Shuttles: These volunteers need a vehicle that can carry bikes if there is a problem on the route. The team of 2-3 vehicles are stationed at the SAG stops, and they rescue the cyclists if there is a problem. You don't have to fix bikes on the road, simply pick up the bike, the two riders and bring them back to the SAG stop. Volunteer time is from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., September 4-7.
