Course Description: (2-day class, 2 hrs per session) Learn how to identify and manage insects and other pests feeding on the trees, shrubs and flowers in your yard. Methods of management include the pros and cons of pesticides and alternative methods such as biopesticides, entomopathogens and biological control. Learn how to recognize when management is necessary and how to recognize the "good bugs" .

Course Description: (1-day class, 2 hrs) Learn to can with your Instant Pot. We will pressure can veggies and/or fruits using your 6 quart Instant Pot. It will be fun and you will know exactly what goes into your food. This is a beginner level course for pressure canning. Enroll in this course and start taking advantage of Florida's year round famer's markets while stocking your pantry with nutritious and convenient foods. We will discuss and demonstrate the tools needed. This is a hands-on class. Note: There is an ingredients fee payable to the instructor the day of class. Students must bring their own instant pot to class. If you don't have a 6 quart Instant Pot, you can pair up with a friend or attend to learn before investing in a 6 quart pot.

* 6. Title: Fifty of the Greatest, Quaint, Fun Villages of Florida

Instructor: Ed Tenhor

Course Description: (1-day class, 1.5 hr) Join us for an hour of photos on the big screen showing possible day trips for people to take over the next few years. This course would be especially good for people who have lived in Florida for some time now but have never really explored much of the State and also good for people who have just moved to Florida and want to see some of the interesting unique places to visit. These will be quaint, colorful towns like Matlachet, (pronounced Mat La Shay), Stuart, Destin, Winter Park, Pass-A Grill, Winter Springs, Mt. Dora, Dunedin, DeFuniak Springs, and DeLand, and 40 others, photos of these towns, some of their interesting highlights and restaurants geographically arranged will be up on the big screen. A list of the towns will be available at the lecture.

* 7. Title: The Fascination of the Dead Sea Scrolls

Course Description: (1-day class, 1.5 hr) Dr. Tenhor has taken many photos at Qumran and developed an interesting understanding of the scrolls and their value for our present world.  While scholars were doing archaeological work at Qumran, Jerusalem, and Masada, a discovery was made that links the three sites together. By way of models of the sites and a power point presentation, insights into the latest findings will be shared and discussed. You've heard about the ancient Temple at Jerusalem, about the mysterious scrolls at Qumran, and about the seige at Masada, now actually learn about important and interesting events that took place at these sites.
