The purpose of this study is to evaluate the current educational curriculum for the MSW program at Gallaudet University.  We hope that your participation will help us ensure that our teaching is up-to-date and relevant in today’s social work practice with deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Study Expectations: As part of this study, we ask you to complete a questionnaire about your current practice experience and perspectives on social work content for graduate level social work students.  We anticipate that your participation will be approximately 10 minutes.

Language: If you need assistance with completing this questionnaire, please use the contact information above to ask questions.

Risks: There is no more than minimal risk to individuals who participate in this study.

Benefits:  Your participation will help us to ensure that our MSW curriculum teaches new students the information they will need as practicing social workers.

Confidentiality:  This is an anonymous survey, which means that your identifying information will not be collected.  Your answers will automatically go into a secured database that is password-protected.

Voluntary Participation: Your participation in the study is voluntary.  If you decide not to participate, your relationship with Gallaudet University will not change in any way. You may elect to stop answering questions at any time.  There is no compensation for completing this questionnaire.

Results: The results of this survey will be discussed among the faculty in the MSW program at Gallaudet and used to develop new course content.  The compiled data may be used for publication in social work education journals to help other educators understand the needs of social workers practicing with deaf and hard of hearing populations.
