Village of Keremeos Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan

Background
A Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan funded by the Provincial government’s Community Resiliency Investment Program will guide the Village’s FireSmart program. The Village is working with professional forestry consultants to create this plan which is being led by Keremeos and District Volunteer Fire Department. The project is expected to be completed in November 2026. The new CWRP will address strategies for wildfire management within the boundaries of the Village of Keremeos only. Surrounding areas within the Electoral Areas of the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen have their own CWRPs.
About the survey
The Village wants to hear from residents about the impacts caused by wildfire in our community and priorities for wildfire management. The online survey contains seven questions and will take 10-15 minutes to complete. Results from the survey will be considered during the development of the Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan.

The survey asks you to identify wildfire impacts you have directly experienced. Wildfire can be a traumatic experience. Supports are available for people in BC dealing with the effects of wildfire.
