PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Managing multiple sclerosis (MS) can be challenging and treatment decisions are not always clear-cut. This CME/CNE activity, designed for neurologists and MS specialists, will provide strategies and tools that you and your care team need to keep ahead of MS. In this live roundtable discussion, you and a small group of your colleagues will explore case challenges to address:
  • Confirming an MS diagnosis
  • Choosing an initial disease-modifying therapy (DMT)
  • Evaluating clinical and radiological evidence of breakthrough disease
  • Systematic approaches to sequencing, switching, and escalating therapies
  • Working with patients and their families to establish realistic treatment expectations and lifestyle modifications
TARGET AUDIENCE
  • Neurologists
  • MS specialists, including MS nurse practitioners and MS physician assistants
LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this activity, learners should be better able to:
  • Confidently identify and subtype patients with MS based on clinical history, MRI findings, and updated McDonald criteria
  • Assess MS disease activity and progression longitudinally
  • Use evidence-based recommendations to determine suboptimal treatment response and adjust treatment accordingly, with the goal of minimizing disability
