Join the Jewish Coalition for Civil Marriage Equality
For Equality Day 2012

Jewish organizations, synagogues, and rabbis have joined a broad-based coalition to secure civil marriage equality for same sex couples. These organizations and individuals believe same sex couples share the same values of love, commitment and the desire to build a life together as opposite sex couples, so it is right and just that they be given the opportunity to obtain a civil marriage license like everyone else. You can help by joining the effort at Equality Day in Olympia, WA on February 16, 2012.
The day will begin at 10:00 am with a study of Jewish texts, a discussion of legislative efforts to date, a brief worship opportunity, and lunch at Temple Beth Hatfiloh in Olympia (201 8th Ave SE). A light nosh will be catered by Bagel Brothers or a similar restaurant. Immediately following this program, we will join the rally on the Capitol steps at 12:00 pm. From 1:00 – 3:00 pm, individuals and groups will lobby their legislators for support and ultimately passage of the bill.
Schedule of Activities:
• 10:00 am: Introduction and Greeting (we will gather at
Temple Beth Hatfiloh)
• 10:15 - 11:00 am: Discussion and text study
• 11:00 - 11:30 am: Status of marriage legislation and
lobbying 101
• 12:00 pm: Rally on Capitol Steps
• 1:00 to 3:00 pm: Lobbying visits
