Introduction

The Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health (the Centre) is working with youth, families, researchers, service providers and leaders to set the bar for engagement across the province by developing quality standards for youth and family engagement in Ontario’s child and youth mental health sector.

Quality standards are concise sets of statements that outline what quality processes and services look like. These standards will benefit young people and families by making engagement processes better and more consistent no matter where you live in Ontario. We are looking for your feedback to inform the family engagement quality standard.

Family engagement is defined as an ongoing process that includes families as active decision-makers and equal partners in service delivery at the individual, organizational and system levels.

While the main audience for this standard is service providers, it is important that you as families also see yourselves within it. By completing this survey, you will help define excellence for the family engagement standard.

This survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. The data we collect will be used along with information from other sources (e.g. focus group discussions, evidence from literature, etc.) to guide the development of the family engagement standard. Your answers will remain anonymous, confidential and will not be identified in any summaries and reports. As a token of our appreciation, we would like to offer you the option of entering for a draw to win one of several $25 gift cards. More information on how to enter the draw will be provided upon completion of the survey.
