Recognition of State Active Recreation Organisations
This application sets out the criteria and process for recognition of South Australian State Active Recreation Organisations (SRO’s).
Definition of Active Recreation
The National Sport and Active Recreation Policy Framework agreed by all Australian governments on 10 June 2011 defines sport as
“Active recreation activities are those engaged in for the purpose of relaxation, health and wellbeing or enjoyment with the primary activity requiring physical exertion, and the primary focus on human activity.”
To be recognised as a State Active Recreation Organisation by the Office for Recreation and Sport, the organisation must be affiliated with the national recreation organisation responsible for representing the activity where such body exists.
