I have avoided or backed out of auditions because I was afraid of not getting cast.
I sometimes feel intimidated by an audition panel.
Sometimes it feels like the people on the audition panel are the "cool kids" and I don't feel "cool enough" to sit at their table.
I show up authentically in every audition - It's more important for me to be me, than anything else.
I try to be who the audition panel is looking for - I'm more of a chameleon who adapts.
I am a seasoned performer and have been afraid to audition, because "what if I don't get cast?" (after having been cast in professional gigs in the past, for example) - "How will this reflect on me as a performer/director/teacher?"
I've had auditions that were so amazing (and I showed up authentically), that it didn't even matter if I was cast or not. I was true to myself, and that was what mattered most.
I've felt imposter syndrome as a performer.
I wish that people on the audition panel could see/hear me do what I KNOW I am capable of.
Once I sign up for an audition, I find myself dreading it for days/weeks.
Once I sign up for an audition, I don't dread the audition - I only think about it because I have to prepare for the audition.
