Session I & II Evaluation Form
Objectives:
1. Determine how Medicare's 2022 proposed rules could change the clinical delivery of orthopaedics.
2. Determine when the use the state's prescription monitoring program. 3. Develop new clinical and technical skills to improve the everyday practice of orthopaedic surgery . 4. Discuss the theory behind value-based care models and how they are being applied to musculoskeletal care in the U.S. 5. Evaluate the current evidence base for diagnosis and clinical management of orthopaedic injuries, conditions and disorders . 6. Examine and apply basic scientific information and technical skills in orthopaedic surgery. 7. Identify complications of arthroscopic all inside ACL reconstructions. 8. Identify distinct problems in complex trauma cases. 9. Identify new bundled payment models that will be developed in the future for musculoskeletal care. 10. Identify non-opioid treatments for acute and chronic pain. 11. Identify reconstruction complications of biologics in orthopaedics. 12. Identify the various side effects of opioid use. 13. Identify complications related to adolescent patellofemoral surgery. 14. Identify complications of arthroscopic superior capsular reconstruction. 15. List strategies to manage problem in complex cases in a step-wise fashion. 16. List the pearls and pitfalls of managing complex orthopaedic trauma cases. 17. Recognize the intention and objectives of the current effort to change the incentive structure with an eye toward positioning your practice for success in the changing environment. 18. Review AAOS's patient-reported outcome platforms to determine how they relate to your practice. 19. Review the AAOS strategic plan to determine how it relates to the future delivery of musculoskeletal care. 20. Review the state's 2019 opioid laws and 2021 proposed bills. 21. Review the state's proposed scope of practice bills. 22. Review their current practice management expertise and develop a plan to increase their expertise . 23. Summarize the literature surrounding outcomes of patients on opioids prior to surgical treatments. 24. Understand the conceptual basis of procedure and condition specific bundles in terms of definition, structure, and intended function. 25. Update knowledge regarding state-of-the-art advances in orthopaedic surgical treatment
Target Audience: The target audience will be orthopaedic surgeons, residents, fellows, and physicians with an interest in orthopaedic treatment. Athletic trainers, coaches, and orthopaedic clinic administrators/technical staff may also be interested in the program.
