MPSA invites faculty members to serve as volunteer mentors during the 2019-2020 Academic Year. Training will be made available prior to the program's launch to help you with a successful start to your mentoring relationship. If selected for this program, mentees will work remotely (phone calls or via Skype/Google Hangouts, etc.) with faculty in a structured format over the academic year. Total commitment is approximately 10 total hours.

What is the timeline for matches?
By submitting the following application, you agree to serve as a faculty mentor during for the duration of the 2019-2020 academic year. Potential mentees will be encouraged to sign up online this spring and summer.

MPSA staff will match one mentee per mentor based on the information provided by both parties. In early August, both parties will receive a notification containing name(s), contact information, and brief biographical sketches. Mentees will be asked to contact mentors within one week to establish contact with their assigned mentor and to begin coordination of an initial meeting to establish expectations for program participation (using an MPSA-provided template).

Please note that this program is 100% outside of the annual conference programming and conference participation is not required to participate in the Academic Year Mentoring Program.
