MPSA will provide a grant of $500 for members to go to Washington, DC to attend the NHA Annual Meeting and Humanities Advocacy Day (March 10-12, 2019). Those selected as grant recipients are responsible for their own travel, lodging, meeting registration, and incidentals.

The first day traditionally provides information about the various U.S. Federal programs that support the disciplines and a short workshop on how to advocate for social sciences. That knowledge is put to use on the second day of the session when attendees visit with members of Congress and their staff to discuss key issues.

In order to qualify for a grant, you must be a member of the MPSA, as faculty or professional, and also registered to vote at the national level in the United States.

The deadline for applications is February 22, 2019.
