NC Licensed Engineers or Architects may inspect elements or components of a building without being a Code Enforcement Official (CEO) per N.C. Gen. Stat. 153A-352(c) and 160A-412(c). Engineers or Architects who would like to inspect systems of a building or an entire project must be certified by the NC Code Officials Qualification Board per N.C. Gen. Stat. 143-151.13(a).
