LAVERFEST ART PRIZE

The 2026 Laverfest Art Prize proudly encourages artists from across the Goldfields and Northern Goldfields to enter, shining a spotlight on the incredible creativity and diverse artistic talent within our region. We invite artists of all backgrounds to submit their works for exhibition from 31 August 2026 to 18 September 2026.

Thanks to the generous support of the Laverton Cross Cultural Association, the 2026 Laverfest Art Prize will offer a prize pool of $10,000, presented across a wide range of categories.

As part of this year’s Art Prize we are proud to present the Schools Exhibition celebrating the creativity, stories and perspectives of young people across our region.

Being Out Bush: Country Through Young Eyes

“Every young person sees Country differently—through their own experiences, memories, imagination, and connection to place.”

From Kindy to Year 12, students from Schools in the Laverton Shire will share their unique perspective of being out bush and their connection to Country. Through painting, sculpture, photography or mixed media, students are encouraged to create artwork that reflects their personal connection to Country and the world around them.

This exhibition celebrates the voices, stories and creativity of our next generation of artists while recognising the important connection between young people, community and Country.

A special thank you to Laverton School, Cosmo Newberry School, Mulga Queen School, and Mt Margaret School for being part of this exciting celebration and for supporting the creativity, stories and talents of our young artists.
