Toya White, MBA, MSN, RN, FNP=C
Toya White has been an FNP since 2005. She received her Master's degree from TWU and subsequently returned to the academic sector to complete several other programs, including a MBA degree. She has worked at a large, non-profit hospital for the past six years in roles that include Program Coordinator, APP Service Line Manager, and Director. Throughout all of her roles, she has maintained active practice as a clinical NP. At her employer, she serves on the Allied Health Credentialing Committee, Physician Peer Review Committee, and as a mentor for the APP Committee. She is also Chair for the Texas Board of Nursing's Practice Advisory Committee (NPAC). She has served as a subject matter expert on various projects pertaining to APPs.
I would like to express my interest in the President-elect position with NTNP. With the evolution of healthcare, the APP role has become increasingly integral. However, APPs still face challenges in the healthcare profession. Organizations, such as NTNP, provide an avenue for us to join as colleagues and advocate in a positive manner, as well as provide a foundation to ensure that individuals that are new to the profession have adequate resources. These critical elements are aligned with my personal goal to help advance the profession. I am honored to be considered as a candidate for an integral role with such an elite and reputable organization. I have no doubt that based on the caliber of the organization's members, any of my colleagues are able to equally serve successfully and continue the strong leadership that NTNP has historically witnessed.

.
Lisa Reid, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
My name is Lisa Reid and I am a Family Nurse Practitioner practicing primary care for Texas Health Physicians Group in the White Rock Lake area. I have been an RN for just over 27 years obtaining my BSN in 1992 from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada. Many years later, I went back to school and received my MSN from Chamberlain College of Nursing. Currently, I am attending the University of Texas Arlington and working towards my DNP with a tentative graduation date of December 2020. Throughout my RN career, my focus was cardiology and heart transplant, but I have found a passion for primary care and love to now keep my patients from getting sick as oppose to treating them after they are already ill.
I have always been involved in activities within my profession, and since moving to Dallas and attending NP school, I have been a member and increased my involvement within the NTNP organization and within my work organization. Currently, I am the Sponsorship Chair for the NTNP Annual Conference and I am the Patient Centered Medical Home Clinician Lead and the Provider Office Liaison for Quality Control Measures within my office. In addition, some of my involvement within the community is with Feed the City and the Richardson Animal Shelter.
I believe I would be a good choice for the next NTNP Secretary position based off my involvement currently in the organization and my drive to always be involved and to help improve my profession. I love to brainstorm, and I have great ideas that I would love to share throughout the future with my fellow NPs. In addition, after raising six children, I am one of the most organized people I know, which I feel is an asset to the position as Secretary of NTNP in order to keep the documentation of the organization’s activities current.
