Maltby Town Council New Community Hall Project.

The Edward Dunn Memorial Hall has served Maltby well, and is much loved.
However, it is over sixty years old and becoming old, a bit dated and very expense to maintain and heat. It does not meet modern standards in terms of energy efficiency and disabled access. There is limited car parking. A lot of money will need to be spent to bring it up to the required standards.
The size of the present Hall limits the activities that can be provided in it, especially as Maltby and the services provided by the Town Council continue to grow.
The Town Council is looking at options for the future. They have considered refurbishing the existing building, building a new Community Hall on another site and there is of course doing nothing.
The Council has concluded that the refurbishment of the existing Hall would be too expensive, and the resulting building too small. It is proposing that Maltby needs a new, better and bigger Community Hall, and that to do this another site needs to found.
A number of sites have been considered, and the preferred site is land off Muglet Lane near Hamilton Road. It is in a central location, close to the Town Centre and other well used facilities and accessible by car, foot and public transport. It will enhance Coronation Park by providing additional facilities such as public toilets, better car parking and a viewing area for bowls. It will also help improve security in the Park. The paragraph in blue is optional depending if there is sufficient space
To take the scheme forward, the Town Council is keen to understand the views and requirements of the community. This questionnaire is one of the ways we will consult residents on the proposal.

Please complete the questionnaire by Monday 26th January 2015
