Session III Evaluation Form
Objectives:
1. Analyze clinical decision making as it relates to ankle cases. 2. Assess outcomes of periprosthetic femoral neck fractures above intramedullary nails in young patients. 3. Compare and contrast the reliability of different stem types used in post-traumatic conversion THA. 4. Define frailty. 5. Describe the common pediatric injuries that require pediatric sub-specialty referral. 6. Describe the differences in complications between HA and THA following femoral neck fractures. 7. Design effective communication and management strategies that facilitate and enhance recovery from injury. 8. Determine how to calculate the 5-index modified frailty index. 9. Determine if Botox injection can be considered as a first line of treatment in order to avoid surgery for idiopathic hallux various. 10. Determine whether obesity has a relationship with immediate post-operative complications in hand, wrist, forearm and elbow surgery. 11. Determine whether procalcitonin can serve as a reliable marker for identifying septic arthritis. 12. Develop new clinical and technical skills to improve the everyday practice of orthopaedic surgery. 13. Evaluate common classes seen in a foot and ankle sub specialty. 14. Evaluate data to determine whether resident involvement in orthopaedic surgeries can have a negative impact on patient care. 15. Evaluate the current evidence base for diagnosis and clinical management of orthopaedic injuries, conditions and disorders. 16. Examine and apply basic scientific information and technical skills in orthopaedic surgery. 18. Explain the difference between disease and illness and the difference between nociception and pain. 19. Identify how frailty has been associated with adverse post-operative outcomes in orthopaedics. 20. Identify new research findings in musculoskeletal care. 21. Identify the list the psychological and social determinants of illness that account for variation in illness for a given disease and variation pain intensity for a given nociception. 22.
