Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
Monday, January 18, 2016
Join us in taking part in one of our nation's largest days of community service! Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service honors Dr. King's legacy by engaging citizens in projects around the country. This initiative is a collaborative effort among HandsOn Greater Richmond and other community organizations.
HandsOn Greater Richmond is requesting applications for projects that will take place at Richmond area schools, parks, government agencies and nonprofit organizations. In order to appeal to various volunteer interests, we are looking for projects that cover a range of impact areas, including: education, housing, youth, environment, etc.
Projects must be submitted by COB Friday, December 4, 2015.
What types of projects can we help with?
Projects that:
-Occur on Monday, January 18 2016
-Are suitable for group sizes of 10 to 30 volunteers
-Are done in a day
-Don't require volunteers to have advanced training or orientation
-Take place in Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield or Hanover.
At this time, we do not currently have any supply or project funding available for this year's MLK Day of Service volunteer projects. We would love to support your organization on this day with Sign Up Registration, marketing and volunteer recruitment, we'll post the project for you, and we'll connect you with a project captain that can help on the day of the volunteer project.
When you are ready to propose your project, continue through this application to provide the details.
You can not save any information on this form. Please have all of your information ready before beginning the form.
We look forward to working with you to enhance the spirit of volunteerism in our region!
