The 2019 Distressed Investing Conference will be held from February 6-8 at Encore at The Wynn in Las Vegas. The following topics will be discussed at the event, and if you have expertise in an area, we invite you to submit a speaking proposal. The 2019 DIC Planning Committee will review all proposals and select speakers. Please note that sessions are 50 minutes in length.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday, November 26, 2018


SESSION 1: "Finding the Canary in the Coal Mine" 

Suggested topics include:
- Second Largest Expansion Running Post WWII
- Potential Expansion Shocks
        - Strong stock market and record deficit (Record
          deficit, what does it mean? When will it become important?)

        - Tax Cuts - is it a good or bad thing?
        - Tariffs
        - China and the developing world
        - House Market - downturn trend
        - Federal Reserve policy/interest rate change (i.e., Fed started raising interest rates in 1997 and
        recession started in 2001)
*Panelists: Economist, Investment Banker, Senior-Level Financial Advisor

SESSION 2: "How Do You Turn a Black Swan White?"

Suggested topics include:
- Which sectors will start to experience problems
- Timing: when to get in and when to get out 
- Looking for war stories/market insight
- Recount how 2008/09/10 unfolded and what will be different

SESSION 3: "Disruptive Impact of Technology and the Distressed Opportunities it Creates"

Suggested topics include:
- Define "Tech" and "Tech Economy" 

- How is AI disrupting industries - i.e. transportation with ride sharing, driver-less
cars, electric vehicles

- Disruptive effect of endless private equity investment being poured into tech
- There's talk Silicon Valley is quietly consolidating
