Disclaimer

This questionnaire has been prepared by the IEC SEG 4 – Systems Evaluation Group - Low Voltage Direct Current Applications, Distribution and Safety for use in Developed and Developing Economies.

The purpose of SEG 4 is to evaluate the status of standardization in the field of low voltage direct current (LVDC) applications and products and to elaborate recommendations of any future standardization work program that the IEC may undertake. In order to deliver the expected results, the SEG4 need to identify the use cases of LVDC technology, engage relevant stakeholders already working in the field of LVDC as widely as possible, and draw up estimates for the application and related markets of LVDC.

This questionnaire has been developed to engage the stakeholders and to compile the required information base about the usage of LVDC in different integration environments in developed and developing economies. The goal is to capture as much information and knowledge as possible on the use of LVDC. Based on this input the SEG 4 and its working groups will be able to conclude on the necessary actions to be taken by the IEC to deal with LVDC standardization in an organized and coherent way.

The IEC SEG 4 thanks you for your invaluable contribution.

All the answers will be treated confidentially. The IEC reserves the right to publish a summary of the analysed results of the questionnaire. The anonymity of the respondents and other named parties are guaranteed in all publications based on the results of this questionnaire.

The questionnaire is organized into 5 parts:

Part 1: Respondent general information
Part 2: LVDC activities
Part 3: Technical information standardization - Properties of LVDC
Part 4: Market and business potential
Part 5: LVDC for electricity access

If you choose to answer completely anonymously, you will skip Part 1.
At the end of parts 3 and 4, you will have the possibility to skip the next parts, or exit from the questionnaire.

Please note that the answering time for the complete questionnaire is estimated up to one hour. We thank you in advance for your contribution to the development of LVDC and the related standardization.
