Award Categories and Criteria
Team of the Year
Through the Greater Dandenong Sports Awards the City of Greater Dandenong recognises the exceptional contribution by people within our community who work hard in their chosen sport and who enrich the lives of others through providing the opportunity to participate in sport.
Nominations are sought for teams whose outstanding work has made a positive contribution to the Greater Dandenong sporting community in areas such as enhancing performance, leadership, engaging disaffected youth through sport and inclusive engagement of all groups within our community to increase participation.
Award Criteria
Consideration will be given to teams who can demonstrate some or all of the following:
- Achieved success and competed at a consistently high level throughout the year.
- Demonstrated fair play and a good sporting attitude throughout the year.
- Provided participants with a positive experience.
- Showed significant improvement from previous years.
- Acted as a role model and a positive influence on the community.
Teams may nominate themselves for the Team of the Year award.
