Award Category and Criteria
All Abilities Sports
Through the Greater Dandenong Sports Awards the City of Greater Dandenong recognises the exceptional contribution by people within our community who work hard in their chosen sport and who enrich the lives of others through providing the opportunity to participate in sport.
Nominations are sought for individuals whose outstanding work has made a positive contribution to the Greater Dandenong sporting community in areas such as enhancing performance, leadership, engaging disaffected youth through sport and inclusive engagement of all groups within our community to increase participation.
Award Criteria
Consideration will be given to recipients who meet some or all of the following:
- Made a significant impact on ‘All Ability’ sports for people with a disability and was an inspiration to others.
- Devoted continuous time and resources to the development of All Ability sports.
- Overcame barriers to excel in sport.
- Became a role model or mentor for people with a disability.
- Provided a positive influence on the community.
Individual nominees must be nominated by someone other than themselves and have a second person to act as a referee. (Referees may be contacted for additional information.).
